Instructions

Step 1

According to the law, the child benefit is calculated based on the average salary of the mother or father for a child up to one and a half years of age. If the child is an orphan, benefits are paid based on the guardian's salary. The amount of the allowance is equal to 40% of the average earnings.

Step 2

When calculating, it should be borne in mind that Russian legislation establishes a minimum amount of monthly benefits for children under one and a half years. For example, in 2012 the first child is entitled to 2323 rubles, the second - 4651.99 rubles. This amount is indexed annually. The minimum amount may be increased, since the amount depends on the mother's region of residence.

Step 3

In 2012, the State Duma of the Russian Federation made amendments to Federal Law No. 21-FZ. According to the decision, a woman has the right to determine the procedure for calculating the average wage herself. If the amount of the benefit is calculated according to the old rules, then the average earnings should be calculated for the last 12 months of work. If the benefits are calculated according to the new rules, then the last 24 months are taken into account. The woman must indicate the method of calculating the allowance in the application submitted to the accounting department.

Step 4

If you want to calculate your benefit amount, you need to add up your wages for the last 24 months. Divide the resulting amount by 730 days and multiply by 30.4 (the average number of days in a month). Multiply this number by 40% or by the rate 0, 4. For example, in the last 24 months you have earned 360,000 rubles. Thus, the calculation of the benefit will look like this: 360,000 rubles / 730 days * 30.4 days * 0.4 = 5996.71 rubles per month.

Step 5

If you did not have permanent employment before the birth of your child, then you must apply for a child allowance with the social protection authorities in the area where you are registered. In this case, the allowance is paid based on the minimum amount.
