Step 1
Register your farm with your local tax office. This simple procedure will take you no more than 5 days. Make a business plan for the farm, taking into account the specifics of your region (climate, infrastructure, markets and even religion of the population).
Step 2
Choose a plot for the construction of a pigsty and a subsidiary farm. It is advisable that your future pig farm is located not far from agricultural processing enterprises - this will help you save on feed. Rent a plot or abandoned farm. Be sure to rent a field for sowing forage crops.
Step 3
Obtain a health certificate from your local veterinary office. Contact the environmental service as well. Register and agree on waste disposal issues (biogas plant, removal to the fields, etc.).
Step 4
Build a pig farm or convert and renovate an old one. If you are renting a farm, be sure to check the condition of the ventilation, feeders and drinkers. If possible, mechanize future production as much as possible so that there are no problems with timely feeding or waste disposal.
Step 5
Purchase breeding boars, sows and piglets, but from different producers, in order to exclude possible undesirable consequences for the offspring caused by related breeding. When choosing a livestock, be sure to consult with experts or immediately hire specialists who will work for you in the future (zootechnician, veterinarian).
Step 6
Purchase high quality compound feed. Enter into agreements with processing plants in your area to use their production waste (for example, milk whey) for feeding pigs. Sow the field with fodder crops (Jerusalem artichoke, amaranth, etc., based on the climatic conditions of your region).
Step 7
Hire staff. One of the conditions for employment at such an enterprise as a pig farm should be a certificate from a narcologist about the absence of alcohol dependence. This is a difficult, but necessary condition.
Step 8
Establish sales. Sign contracts with processing enterprises, with meat suppliers. You can trade pork on your own, but for this you will need to equip refrigerators and, if possible, open your own processing plant.
