Step 1
Most often, fraudsters in Russia counterfeit 1000 rubles banknotes. The second place is taken by 500 rubles, the third remains for 5000 rubles. Examine the bill being pulled out. The paint with which the banknote number is made must be solid, not cracked anywhere. Use a coin by running it along the fold line. The paint should not rub off.

You can also check the authenticity of the bill by wetting it a little. The fake one will leave its paint on your fingers. The original bill will remain safe and sound.

Pay attention to the perforations made to identify the denomination for visually impaired people. Run your fingers over it: the structure of the holes should be barely distinguishable, neat around the edges. Not a single hole should end with a "fringe". Hold the bill up to the light to check the evenness of the spaces between the holes. This perforation is done using a special expensive laser. Fraudsters do not use such equipment and make holes with a thin needle.
Step 5
Check the paper from which the banknote is made. Fold it in half, bring it to your ear and quickly "rub" between your fingers. A genuine bill will make sharp "thundering" sounds, a fake one will rustle dully.
Step 6
If possible, use special devices to verify banknotes for authenticity. With their help, you can easily identify counterfeit money.
