A few months ago, after the thunderous news about a possible change in the pension reform, as well as after the news about the average high wage plan across the country, Internet citizens took up arms against the state about a strong belt-tightening. In response, the government published the salaries of officials.
What Rosstat says
As it became known from official sources, the average salary of an employee of state bodies of the Russian Federation at the federal level in 2017 increased by 3 percent, having risen to 118 tus.rub. per month. These data were provided by Rosstat.
Moreover, the average salary throughout Russia in 2017 was 39 rubles, and in Moscow - 100 thousand rubles. As for the highest wages among civil servants, last year they were officially recorded in the government apparatus. There the salary was equal to 227 thousand rubles. The salaries of officials working in the presidential administration and in the Accounts Chamber turned out to be even higher. There the salary level was equal to 217 and 180 thousand rubles. respectively.
There were also those structures that received one of the relatively small charges in 2017 (figures in thousands of rubles). These are civil servants employed in the press agency (60), subsoil use (60, 2) and tourism (61, 3). These data are also provided on its official resource Rosstat.
Growth and reduction of wages
The fastest growing salary in 2017 was found in the following government services:
- Investigative Committee - recorded growth of 33 percent over the year.
- Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs - up 22 percent year over year.
- Federal bailiff service - an increase of 18 percent.
At the same time, there was a decrease in the level of salaries of officials employed in the agency of scientific companies. There was a decrease in the level of wages by 7.5 percent.
How is it with ordinary citizens?
As for ordinary citizens, whose activities are in no way connected with the work of civil servants and officials, their real incomes decreased by about 2 percent, but the drop in salaries in 2016 showed an even greater mark - by 6 percent.
At the same time, real wages of Russian citizens increased in January, having risen to 6, 2 percent. In total, over the previous year, the real wages of Russian citizens increased by about 3.5 percent.
According to the data and estimates of Rosstat, the average monthly salary of citizens employed in organizations and companies not related to the state in January of this year amounted to approximately 38 thousand rubles. In comparison with the beginning of 2017, the salary rose by 8.5 percent.
At the same time, it is known that some officials in the State Duma are going to raise their salary level, arguing that they are ashamed to receive such a salary in such a position. Time will tell whether such a decision will be adopted and approved.
