Instructions

Step 1

If you are involved in an accident, under no circumstances leave the scene. Stop and turn on the alarm. Loan get out of the car and put up an emergency stop sign. Inspect the damage to the vehicle and take pictures of them. If they are insignificant and the cost of repairs does not exceed 25,000 rubles, fill out an accident notice and put two signatures together with the person responsible for the accident. If the damage is significant, call the traffic police.

Step 2

Fill out the accident notice. Indicate the circumstances of the accident, the numbers of the CMTPL agreements of the participants in the accident, the names of insurance companies, the numbers and brands of cars, their VIN numbers, drivers' data, driver's license numbers. Try to include as much information as possible. Sign the notice and date it filled.

Step 3

Show the traffic police officer your driver's license, OSAGO policy, vehicle certificate (STS) and get an unsealed accident certificate and other necessary documents and specify where you need to drive in order to certify them.

Step 4

At the appointed time, drive up to the traffic police department and receive all documents with seals.

Step 5

Collect the package of necessary documents and go to the claims department of the insurance company. Keep in mind that you can contact both your insurance company and the insurance company of the person responsible for the accident.

Step 6

Submit the documents and receive an act with the seal, date and signature of an employee of the insurance company, confirming the receipt of your documents. Show your car to an expert. Read all damage marks carefully and sign the document. According to the law on OSAGO, the insurer is obliged to make payments or provide a written waiver of them within 30 days.

Step 7

If the insurance company delays with payments or refuses them, first write a complaint to the insurer. If this step does not help, write a complaint to the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA) and Insurance Supervision. As a last resort, go to court. In most cases, going to court helps you get your money.

Step 8

If you are not satisfied with the amount of payments, contact the insurance company. In the application, indicate the damage and the approximate amount required to repair them. Then contact RSA and Insurance Supervision. Conduct a counter peer review and go to court. In case of successful completion of the case, the insurance company will pay you not only the damage under the insurance, but also money for re-examination and legal costs.
