Since the installation of water meters began in Russia, disputes on this issue have not subsided. Indeed, in some cases it can save money, in others it can cause even greater costs. Calculations are easy enough.
Abroad, water meters have long and firmly entered into use, but in Russia they never manage to take root completely. Indeed, in some cases, installing them may be disadvantageous, but in order to determine this, several key points need to be considered.
Calculation of water consumption by the number of residents
Meters, as a rule, are installed under the auspices of the fact that tenants will be able to save on monthly payments for water. Whether this is so, is found out through simple mathematical calculations.
First of all, you need to pay attention to the region of residence: for each of them a certain daily rate of consumption and water consumption (in liters per person) has been established. For example, this is 100 liters of hot water and 250 liters of cold water per day. You pay for this amount in the absence of a water meter.
Actual consumption: about 200 liters - filling the bath, 30 (plus or minus 10) liters - taking a shower, 30-90 liters is consumed by the washing machine, about 10 liters is spent on washing dishes and another 5-10 liters for washing hands. The flush tank of the toilet has a capacity of 4-7 liters and is filled several times during the day, in addition, some water is spent on cleaning the apartment and cooking.
Based on these numbers, the use of a counter seems impractical, but there are tricks here. If, for example, one person is registered in an apartment, but three live, a water meter is an unprofitable purchase, since the calculation according to the standard scheme involves payment only for the registered tenants. If a meter is supplied, you will have to pay more for the actual water consumption. But in the opposite case (several people are registered, but one or two live in an apartment), the meter will be more profitable: you will not have to overpay for those who do not actually use water.
Water consumption depending on the place of residence
In any apartment building, a general house meter is placed in the basement, which measures the entire water consumption. Considering the state of communications in most homes, no one is safe from pipe burst, when "general" water in large quantities is spilled uselessly. In such cases, the presence of apartment control is beneficial, since after the liquidation of the accident, the payment for the purposelessly spilled water is distributed among the residents who do not have meters.
But when settling in the private sector, especially in the summer, it is better not to rush to install this device: if you plan to water the plantings around the house, the water consumption can be extremely high.
However, everything gradually goes to the fact that the installation of meters will become mandatory everywhere, with minimal exceptions (Federal Law of November 23, 2009 N 261-FZ "On energy saving and on increasing energy efficiency and on amending certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation" with subsequent changes and additions).
