Earlier, I wrote about how to organize a rational approach to the use of water resources in your own apartment and thereby save a significant amount of money from your personal budget only thanks to simple rules. The topic, however, is so vast that I decided to add something else.

Instructions

Step 1

Remember, your toilet is not a trash can. Don't throw anything at it that should find its place in the trash can. Each disposable handkerchief, cigarette butt or ear wand requires rinsing with water, that is, consuming at least 3 liters of water. Think how many times this month have you flushed the toilet because of this? Now multiply the result by 3, and you will get the number of liters of water that were stupidly used, and for which you will now have to pay from your own wallet.

Step 2

Check what type of cistern is in your toilet. The most economical are the so-called double-leaf, that is, having a division into two chambers. Thanks to this, when you do not need to use a lot of water, you can choose the saving option. The ecological drain should also have a "STOP" button, which will allow you to drain as much water from the tank as you need in a given situation every time you use the toilet, and not to pour out the entire tank if there is no need for it.

Step 3

When planning to replace your washing machine or dishwasher, choose a model that has a water and energy saving function. Of course, such devices are more expensive, but nevertheless, this difference is not too big, and in addition, this is a one-time expense, which quickly pays off during the operation of the device.

Step 4

Do your laundry and dishwashing when the entire device is full - this will maximize the use of the amount of water consumed in these processes. If possible, try to choose energy saving and water saving programs.

Step 5

Insulate the pipes. For what purpose? It's very simple - insulated pipes will allow you to quickly heat up the water, and, therefore, quickly drain the already cooled water from the pipes (remember how often in the morning you have to drain cold water from the "hot" tap for a very long time before it heats up).

Step 6

Do not use water to defrost meat. When planning your meals, remove the meat from the freezer a day earlier and place it in the refrigerator to thaw.

Step 7

And finally, something that not everyone remembers, because it is too simple. When preparing food, such as cooking vegetables, use lids. This not only shortens the cooking time, but also does not require the constant addition of water to the pan to offset the evaporation.
