Every working mom-to-be counts down the days until her maternity leave, because there are so many things ahead in anticipation of the baby. It is necessary to prepare a room for the baby, buy baby things, choose diapers, purchase a crib, chest of drawers, bottles, nipples, etc. And undoubtedly, the pregnant woman is very interested in how much she will be paid on sick leave for pregnancy and childbirth.
Instructions
Step 1
To receive maternity benefits, you need to contact an antenatal clinic at the 30th week of pregnancy and take a certificate of temporary disability. Next, you need to provide an application and sick leave for your place of work.
Step 2
If you have worked in the last place for more than 6 months and want to know what the amount of maternity benefits is, then you can contact the accounting department and inquire about payment in advance. The sick leave period lasts for 140 calendar days in normal pregnancy (70 days before delivery and 70 after), with multiple pregnancies, the period increases to 194 days (84 days before delivery and 110 after). If multiple pregnancies are detected during childbirth, the maternity hospital issues an additional certificate of incapacity for work for 40 calendar days to the mother.
Step 3
Maternity leave is calculated based on the employee's average earnings, but cannot exceed the established limit. That is, if you receive a salary above 35,000 rubles, then more than 34,583 rubles a month (the amount of sick leave for pregnancy and childbirth in 2010), you will not be able to get it.
Step 4
If you receive a salary less than the maximum limit, then maternity leave is calculated from the average earnings for 12 months, the calculation takes into account the amounts of bonuses, vacation pay and sick leave. This was the case in 2010. But all pregnant women need to take into account that in 2011 a new law came into force, thanks to which the benefit is considered in a new way. That is, maternity leave will be calculated as the average salary of an employee, divided by 730 days (the number of days in 2 years). From January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012 inclusive, a pregnant woman can choose according to which scheme she will be charged sick leave. You need to inform the accounting department about your desire and write a corresponding statement.
