The previous twelve months of employment are used as the billing period for any employee. If there is no earnings in the specified period for certain reasons, then the previous period of time in which the employee had actual earnings is used as the settlement period.
When calculating, the legislation requires taking into account all payments that the employee received, including additional payments, allowances, compensations, the amount of wages. If the payment for work depends on its volume, then such amounts are also taken into account when determining the average earnings. Interest or commissions, which are stipulated in some organizations as part of an incentive pay system, cannot be ruled out.

After determining the total amount of money that the employee received in the organization in the billing period, it is necessary to carry out simple arithmetic operations to determine the average earnings on a calendar day. At the first stage, the amount received is divided by twelve, which allows you to determine the average earnings in a calendar month. After that, the resulting value should be re-divided by the average monthly number of calendar days. This amount is also determined by the Government of the Russian Federation, it is 29.4 days. The amount received will be the employee's average daily earnings, which should be used to calculate and calculate vacation pay and other payments tied to calendar days.
