Instructions
Step 1
According to the law, a notary must have a higher legal education. If you do not have it, you will need to get it. You can enroll in the correspondence or evening department if there is no time or opportunity to study law on a full-time basis.
Step 2
After completing your legal education or during your legal education, you will have to undergo an internship with a notary. Without it, you will not be admitted to the exam. The internship lasts at least a year for those who have not previously worked in the legal profession, and at least six months for those who have worked for more than three years. For this internship, get a job as a notary trainee in any notary office. The intern receives, as a rule, a little (in Moscow from 15 to 30 thousand a month), but he gains the necessary experience.
Step 3
Anyone wishing to become a notary must successfully pass a qualification exam after completing an internship. It is accepted by a qualification commission formed by the federal executive body that oversees notarial activities in your region, and representatives of the notarial chamber. If you haven't passed the exam, then you have the right to take it again in a year.
Step 4
Within a month after passing the exam, you will be issued a license for the right to notarial activity. On the basis of the recommendation of the notary chamber and on the basis of a competition, the licensed person is empowered to carry out such activities. The competition procedure is determined by the Ministry of Justice and the Notary Chamber.
Step 5
The notary who passed the competition is appointed to the position and the territory in which he must operate is determined for him. It is in this territory that you have the right to open a notary office. A notary can be a public or private practice. In the first case, the office for him is opened by the Ministry of Justice or its territorial body.
Step 6
To open a notary office, it will be necessary to rent a small room (about 20 square meters) and hire an assistant or trainee who could handle the paperwork. You can attract customers with a signboard with a pointer. As a rule, the flow of clients is a matter of time, since notary services are always needed. As soon as firms in your area and ordinary citizens find out about you, you will have income.
