If you have developed your own product and want to register your own trademark, you can do it yourself. The only condition is that your company must be domestic. If so, here are some tips that you may find helpful in preparing to create your own brand.

To prepare for registration, you will need to study the legislation regarding trademarks, invite an artist, fill out an application, pay a state fee and collect a package of documents

Step 1
Study the Law of the Russian Federation "On Trademarks …".
Step 2
Invite an artist who specializes in layouts and logos. Develop and design with its help a drawing-layout of your future trade mark. It is better to make several different samples, and then choose one - the most successful one.
Step 3
Decide what products / services your brand will include. In order to determine this list, carefully study the International Classification of Goods and Services and find the code or codes that suit you.
Step 4
Be sure to check your alleged trademark for patentability. For this purpose, study the registers of already registered trademarks: they contain both Russian and international trademarks. Until you do this, there is no point in moving on - if at further stages a coincidence with a previously registered mark is found, you will be denied registration and all efforts will be in vain.

Pay the state fee.

Then send to Rospatent (FGU FIPS) your application for registration of a trademark in the form established by law.
Step 7
You must add the following documents to the application, namely: a receipt for payment of the state duty, a copy of the company's statutory documents (or a certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur), a letter from the Federal State Statistics Service, which will contain information about the statistics codes assigned to your company.
Step 8
Rospatent will conduct a formal examination of the documents provided by you. If they match, your trademark will be admitted to the next stage of registration.
Step 9
Rospatent will conduct a deep examination of the trade mark you have declared. If all goes well, your trademark will be registered.
