The sale of things bearing the status of "second hand" is a rather specific type of business, which, nevertheless, with a reasonable approach, can bring tangible profit to its owner. The creation of a retail outlet of this type does not require large investments and attracts with its availability, so many of them are owned by people who have chosen second-hand as their family business.
It is necessary
- - a small room with a low rental rate;
- - business relations with one or more wholesale suppliers of second-hand products;
- - shop equipment (fitting room, mirrors, wardrobes);
- - certificate of registration of individual entrepreneur, cash register, package of permits.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a free space where you can set up a second-hand store. When choosing a location for a retail outlet of this type, you need to be guided by two considerations - firstly, you definitely need to locate the store in a crowded place, and secondly, the high rent will make your work almost meaningless. The best option is to open a point near a market, shopping mall or large store by renting a space that is hardly attractive for the equipment of a boutique or restaurant. For example, you can be located in the basement floor, renting a semi-basement area will cost you significantly less.
Step 2
Register an individual enterprise, coordinate your undertaking with employees of the fire inspection and Rospotrebnadzor and try to convince them that your activity will not be dangerous for the population at all. Get a cash register and conclude a contract for its maintenance, then do not violate the rules of retail, so that sanctions from the tax office do not nullify all your efforts.
Step 3
Purchase your first shipment in an effort to establish a long-term business relationship with the wholesale supplier. The purchase of second-hand clothes is a procedure that requires some experience and knowledge of the specifics of the product. Firstly, you need to personally check the weight of the purchased batch of clothes (items for second-hand stores are sold by weight), and secondly, you need to inspect the goods in the presence of the supplier and reject unwanted items, the liquidity of which is obviously zero. Even conducting such inspections, you will most likely then write off quite a lot of things, but if you buy a pig in a poke, then you will have to throw out the lion's share of the goods.
Step 4
Get some basic retail equipment (fitting room, a pair of mirrors, open cabinets with hangers) and develop the best merchandising principles for your store. Your task is to fit as much goods as possible in a small area of the store, using any means for this (up to cardboard boxes). At the same time, it is better to display the most attractive things in prominent places, while less attractive-looking clothes can simply be folded into drawers or on the shelves of the closet. If your pricing is set reasonably, then sooner or later there should be a buyer for almost every item.
