Step 1
Prepare all required documents. First, you need a passport. The applicant is usually a mother who has given birth to a second, third or next child after January 1, 2007. Families in which children were born before this date are not eligible to receive maternity capital. Secondly, find the SNILS card (insurance certificate). Third, attach birth certificates of all children to the package of documents. On the reverse side, they must be marked by the passport and visa service on Russian citizenship or there must be separate inserts.
Step 2
Visit the website of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. Find information about PFR offices in the regions of the country. Use a list or an interactive map. Find the address of your local FIU office and phone numbers.
Step 3
Call your territorial PFR office, specify the hours of reception of citizens on issues of registration of maternity capital. In Moscow, special branch windows are open every day at office hours.
Step 4
Check if it is necessary to make copies of documents (passport, SNILS, birth certificates). In Moscow, all of them are scanned by an FIU specialist on the spot, but in the regions they often require paper copies.
Step 5
Visit the territorial office of the FIU at the place of residence at the office hours. Fill out an application for obtaining maternity capital on the spot, provide the specialist with all the documents. Get a receipt from the employee of the Pension Fund of Russia that the documents have been accepted for consideration.
Step 6
Wait for the letter, it will come by Russian post about a month after the submission of documents. The message will indicate what decision was made on your issue: to issue maternity capital or refuse to receive it. At the time indicated in the letter, contact the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Russia with the applicant's passport, get a certificate for maternity capital in your hands.
