Aspiring entrepreneurs who are under the wing of the state are usually referred to as residents of business incubators. Such non-profit institutions are now created in all regions of the country, but not all of them are easy for startups to get into.
Conventionally existing incubators for business can be divided into three types:
- production,
- scientific (or innovative),
- general incubators.
Industrial business incubators are focused on companies that are directly involved in the production of products under their own brand name or with a registered trade name. Several years ago, the state, which considered the economic potential in small and medium-sized businesses, invested billions of rubles to equip such business incubators. Today, many of them are production areas with premises of various kinds, including equipped laboratories, test shops, a staff of scientific and pseudo-scientific personnel to help young entrepreneurs. Such an incubator, for example, operates in the science city of Biysk.
Innovative business incubators should incubate enterprises and organizations that offer a novelty to the market, that is, a solution to consumer demand in a way that has not been previously applied. In part, this is an easy profanation, nevertheless, quite viable companies sometimes emerge from such. Skolkovo is a classic example. Huge business incubator.
A general business incubator is the most unassuming. For the most part, this is a set of office space with computers and telephones.
These premises are leased to entrepreneurs, whose business is not yet three years old, at a reduced rental rate. In addition to the premises, an overseer is issued, who at best is called a "mentor" and who knows something about the business. More often than not, startups are supervised by an ordinary manager, who quarterly shakes the performance of the business plan and monthly - the rent.
There are also student and international incubators. For example, in Barnaul there is a Russian-Chinese youth business incubator, and in the capital there is a student at Moscow State University.
How to get into a business incubator
In absolutely all cases, in order to enter a business incubator, an enterprise must be legally registered, i.e. a legal entity is registered, and its owner or an authorized person shall submit a business plan with economic calculations to the court of the tender committee.
It is important to understand that each type of incubator has its own set of requirements for a resident. So, industrial ones make the initial selection of applicants exclusively according to OKVED, innovative ones - according to the novelty of the idea, and this novelty in the literal sense will need to be proven.
Student - according to the social affiliation of the business owner, he must be a student.
Ordinary - according to the criteria that are "lowered" from the top, while they do not work at all with medicine and pharmaceuticals, net purchase and sale, insurance, financial sector organizations, etc.
