Instructions

Step 1

The calculation of average earnings has become stricter, which affects the amount of maternity benefits. The determination of the average earnings is now carried out for the last two calendar years. Average daily earnings are determined by dividing total earnings by 730 days.

Step 2

The allowance is paid for maternity leave, which is 140 calendar days (156 calendar days in case of complicated childbirth and 194 calendar days if two or more children are born).

Step 3

You can calculate the maternity allowance by adding the amount of earnings for the last two calendar years, and dividing it by 730, and then multiplying it by the number of calendar days of leave. The received amount of the benefit should not exceed the maximum value of the base for calculating insurance contributions to the Social Insurance Fund, which is equal to 34,583 rubles.

Step 4

A woman with less than six months' insurance experience is paid an allowance based on the minimum wage, which from January 1, 2009 is 4330 rubles.

Step 5

If a woman works for several employers, then the allowance is assigned and paid at one place of work of the woman's choice (taking into account earnings from other employers). To do this, you need to take certificates from employers in a special form and provide the employer who calculates the allowance.
