What is Visa and MasterCard

Visa is a US payment system, it is used for cashless payments in 200 countries around the world. This is the name of a financial company that has been operating since 1970, we can say that it is a pioneer who opened the world to the possibility of abandoning cash between the subjects of commodity-money relations. Naturally, this payment system is most popular in America, and European consumers, especially those who have financial relations with US companies, willingly use it.

MasterCard is an international payment system, although its head office is also located in the United States and is represented in 210 countries around the world. Unlike Visa, the MasterCard payment system is trusted by the majority of plastic card users from Asia and the East. Both payment systems have their own standard for making non-cash transactions, tied to the national currency of a particular country.

There was an opinion that Visa payment system cards allow for greater security of non-cash transactions, but Mastercard provides more guarantees for account transactions, although this is invisible for small amounts.

What is the difference between Visa and MasterCard payment systems

The main difference between these two global payment systems, popular all over the world, is that for visa the main currency is the US dollar, and for mastercard it is the euro. In those countries where both currencies are in the same circulation, there will be no difference for the user - abroad he will be able to convert the rubles stored in the account into dollars through Visa ATMs, and into euros - through MasterCard ATMs. But this situation does not develop in all countries and, in order, for example, in Europe, not to subject the rubles on the account to double conversion - first into dollars, and then into euros, it is better to immediately use a plastic card of the Mastercard system.

When making non-cash payments on the Internet, you must indicate the CVV2 code for the Visa card, and the CVC2 code for the Mastercard.

Therefore, when going on a trip, keep in mind that in Europe, Asia and in the eastern countries it will be more profitable for you to use Mastercard, in the USA and other countries of North and South America - a Visa card. Russian banks offer clients who open an account in dollars to link it to a plastic Visa card, and those who want to open an account in euros - to a MasterCard system card, however, after the account has already been opened, it can be linked to any card.
