The official authorities of our country urge citizens to start their own business and thus develop small and medium-sized businesses. It is high time to remember that from time immemorial in Russia in every peasant yard there were kept some livestock of poultry. Geese, chickens, ducks were held in high esteem: eggs and meat could be eaten by themselves and those who wanted to sell. And raising turkeys in some areas was more profitable than raising pigs.
Instructions
Step 1
When organizing a poultry farm, there are several important points to consider. A poultry farm can be registered as a farm or limited liability company. It is best to organize production outside the city, and points of sale, on the contrary, in the city, in any market.
Step 2
Set up a suitable area for poultry to walk around the house, preferably on the south side of the site. In summer and spring, grass will become an additional source of food. In addition, ducks need a small reservoir - consider this too.
Step 3
Before purchasing young stock, pre-equip a house suitable for keeping birds. Any spacious room will do - a poultry house or a large barn. Most importantly, protect the birds from drafts, which are extremely dangerous to their health. If an old building is used under the house, be sure to strengthen the foundation so that rodents, cats and dogs do not get inside.
Step 4
One bird must have at least 1 sq. M. In closer conditions, egg production can be significantly reduced.
Step 5
Provide in the poultry house the temperature that is optimal for the life of birds: for chickens - not lower and not higher than + 25-27 ° С. During the summer, an air cleaner or fan should be in the house. Please note that for geese, the temperature should be significantly lower. As for the incubator, the temperature there must be controlled. Raise it on the sea of maturing young animals.
Step 6
Purchase feeders, drinkers, nests and incubators. However, if desired, all equipment can be made by hand, including an ash box for bathing chickens (a box filled with ash).
Step 7
Take care of the lighting in the house - in winter this will be very useful, as egg production drops significantly with reduced daylight hours. Use fluorescent fluorescent lamps. Remember - too bright light is no less harmful than lack of light.
Step 8
Drinking bowls and feeders should not be located directly on the ground; it is better to strengthen them at a low height. Keep them clean. Place straw on the floor as it is easier to clean up with droppings. Place the nests at some elevation and in a shady place.
Step 9
Start with a herd of 400-700 heads. The purchase of young animals and arrangement of the poultry house will require about 2 thousand dollars. Prices for poultry differ in different regions: for one goose you will have to pay 70-90 rubles, for a duck - 30-60 rubles, for a turkey - 70-90 rubles.
Step 10
Purchase bird feed from factories or professional farms. In summer, birds can additionally feed on pasture. Ducks, if there is a reservoir, will be able to feed on plankton and insects.
Step 11
The poultry farm, in addition to meat and eggs, will produce down, feathers and droppings. The latter can be sold to summer residents and gardeners. However, to sell the litter, you must have a certificate of the appropriate sample.
Step 12
If you are planning regular deliveries of eggs to stores, take care of suitable packaging. In any city there is a printing company specializing in the manufacture of cardboard packaging, with which you can conclude a cooperation agreement.
