Farming is not only a business, but also a way of life, therefore, wanting to create your own poultry farm, you need to be prepared for the fact that you will have to spend whole days, weeks, and possibly even months away from the city.

How to build a farm

It is necessary

  • -plot of land away from the city;
  • -heated poultry house;
  • -equipment for keeping birds (nests, feeders, drinkers);
  • - breeding chicks.

Instructions

Step 1

Purchase or lease a piece of land that will house your farm. When calculating the required area, proceed from the fact whether you will buy compound feed for birds all year round, or are going to keep geese on grazing, that is, on pasture. If the latter, then according to the existing rules, there should be at least 10 meters for each goose.

Step 2

Register a farm - for this type of economic activity there is an organizational and legal form of the same name. You will not need any permits "at the start", only later, when the farm begins to function, you will need to get a certificate of the welfare of your farm from the veterinary service - this will help to organize the sale of your future products.

Step 3

Build a poultry house if there is nothing suitable on the site at your disposal. The poultry house should be well insulated, ideally, steam heating should be carried out or "brooders" should be provided to heat the chicks. It is especially important to maintain a high temperature (at least 25 degrees) in the "breeding zone" where the chicks will be housed.

Step 4

Purchase basic bird care equipment for your poultry house - nests, feeders, water tanks. Find feed suppliers from whom you can regularly make bulk purchases. If the house will not be heated, provide a powerful heater (for each house).

Step 5

Buy "breeding" chicks when everything for their life on the farm is ready. Calculate the number of poultry based on your capabilities and the consideration that a poultry farm with a livestock of less than 500 heads is considered unprofitable.
