The elderly man quit his last job and retired. Social services and pension funds, in which a pensioner is registered, are obliged to explain what social supplements or compensations to the basic pension are now due to him. However, not all civil servants perform their duties properly. Therefore, pensioners should know such information, and where to go for additional payments.

Step 1
Additional payments to the pension received by a pensioner from the state are called compensatory (EKB) or regional social supplements (RSD). These payments do not depend on what type of citizen's pension belongs to and from which organization it is paid.

Both non-working pensioners and working people can count on the EKB or RSD. Of these, pensioners who are on disabilities of the first two groups, participants, veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Also, those pensioners who are still employed in positions specified in the list of professions of the government of the city in which the pensioner lives.
Step 3
Citizens who have received a 3rd degree disability as a result of work to eliminate the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant have the right to receive additional payments.
Step 4
The calculation of the amount of compensation or additional payments is determined individually for each pensioner. Such points as the total income of all payments to a pensioner-beneficiary, whether he receives a monthly city payment in his region, whether he has travel benefits, utility bills, and other benefits, will be taken into account.
Step 5
In order to find out what payments are due to a pensioner and how much he can expect, what conditions will be for monthly payments, you need to seek advice from the social protection authorities of the district in which the pensioner lives.
Step 6
After receiving advice, the pensioner will be asked to write a corresponding application for the payment of additional funds or compensation. The application is accompanied by official documents of the citizen, confirming his status, including a pension certificate and other documents at the request of social security workers.
