Starting a business in each country has its own legal and economic characteristics. And if you decide to organize trade in Belarus, it is better to find out all the rules of doing local business in advance.

Step 1
Make a business plan for your future business. Calculate all the necessary costs and the approximate payback period of the store. Determine the range of products that you intend to trade. If you have the opportunity, order a marketing research from a special organization, which will allow you to understand what is missing in the local market and what is in demand.
Step 2
Find the funds you need to start a business. You can take them in the form of a loan from a bank or find an investor who is ready to finance you based on future income.
Step 3
Open a company in Belarus. To do this, accept the charter at a meeting of founders, pay a state fee and contact the executive committee at the location of the future store. There you can draw up an application and then submit the documents for registration. Since 2009, a simplified notification procedure for opening a company has been in effect, according to which it can be registered on the day of application.
Step 4
Find the right space for your store. Best of all, if it is already removed from the housing stock, it will save you time and money.
Step 5
Collect the necessary permits to start the store. Get an opinion from your local health authority that the location you have chosen for the store complies with all regulations. Be prepared for stricter requirements for a grocery outlet than for a non-food merchant. Also issue a conclusion of the fire department on the safety of the premises. In Minsk, you will also need to have permission from the Urban Planning Committee if you want to change the appearance of the facade or reinforce a sign on it. They will be able to approve your version after the designer's project is submitted.
Step 6
After registration of these papers, you will receive the most important one - a license for the right to trade. It can be issued to you by a local executive authority or self-government body.
