Unfortunately, in Russia today there are quite a few single mothers raising children on their own. However, the state guarantees such women certain benefits, compensation and cash benefits.
Instructions
Step 1
It should be noted that the status of single mother is not assigned to all women raising a child on their own. Only in cases where the child's father is unknown (or paternity is not properly established), a woman is considered a single mother. Women raising a child in a so-called single-parent family (for example, after a divorce) or in cases where the child's father was deprived of parental rights or died cannot be considered single mothers. The point boils down to the fact that in order to assign the status of a single mother in the child's birth certificate in the column "father" there must be a dash or an entry from the mother's words to her surname.
Step 2
According to the law, single mothers are paid all the same cash benefits from the state as any other mother in Russia. This includes a one-time payment for early registration during pregnancy, an allowance for the birth of a baby, as well as payments for caring for a child (within one and a half years from the date of birth). In addition, each region of the country has its own additional benefits and compensations. Also, a single mother is paid a monthly allowance if her income is less than the subsistence level, and compensation payments if her income exceeds the subsistence level.
Step 3
In addition to monetary compensation, you are entitled to benefits in preschool and school institutions (of course, in state ones). These include compensation for 75% of the payment for kindergartens (in some cases, the share paid by the state may be significantly less), priority admission to kindergarten, provided that your child is at least one and a half years old.
Step 4
If you are employed, you are entitled to reduced travel and night work. At the same time, on night shifts and holidays, single mothers are allowed to work only with written consent. You are entitled to full sick leave payment, even if the child is sick. If your business is liquidated, you are guaranteed employment.
Step 5
As a single mother, you are entitled to an additional two weeks' leave and four paid days off per month above the norm. If you suddenly take care of a disabled child, you have the right to demand a reduction in the working week. Women in this status are entitled to tax and housing benefits. You are entitled to double tax deductions (up to two thousand rubles) for your children until the age of majority.
