Card standards also differ - there are Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro cards, as well as cards of our own standard - AS Sberbank, they are accepted only in Russia and are blocked a little differently.

Step 1
The easiest way to block a Sberbank card is to call the hotline. The phone number is common for all regions: 8 800 555 5550. Wherever you call, the call will cost you the same as a local outgoing call if you are in Russia. The call center employee will ask you a few questions in order to make sure that it is the cardholder who is calling, and not a stranger. The operator will also ask for the code word that you named during the conclusion of the agreement with the bank.
Step 2
If you have a Mobile Bank connected, then you can block the card using it. In this case, send an SMS to the number 90 with a request, which must be composed according to the following template. The first word (dial one of the options): BLOCKING, BLOKIROVKA, BLOCK, 03. Then enter a space and type in the message the last 5 digits of the card number you are going to block. After that, another space and the blocking code - a number from 0 to 3, with 0 means that you have lost the card, 1 - that your card was stolen, 2 - the card was eaten by an ATM, 3 - all other options. Instead of spaces, you can use the hyphen (-) or pound sign (#) in your query. Within about 5 minutes, an SMS will be sent to your phone, in which the blocking code will be indicated, you must send it to 900 in confirmation of the operation.
Step 3
You can block the card using the Sberbank-Online Internet banking system. To do this, you need to be connected to the Sberbank Mobile Bank. Send an SMS to number 900 with a PASSWORD or PAROL request, you will receive an SMS with a password in response. After that, you can log in to the Internet Bank and select the "block card" item in the menu, then the system will prompt you to indicate the reason, after which the card will be blocked.
Step 4
AS Sberbank cards are blocked in their own way, all methods that work for other cards are inapplicable to them. To block an AS Sberbank card, you need to go to a branch that works with cards of this type. You must have an identity document with you, preferably a passport. The bank will ask you to fill out an application form, then the card will be blocked.
