When thinking about how to open a jewelry production, keep in mind that this activity can be carried out only with a special certificate from the Assay Office. Therefore, in addition to the usual package of documents for entrepreneurial activity, you will also need to issue this certificate. It is issued subject to certain requirements that take into account the specifics of the jewelry business.

Step 1
The types of activities for which a certificate of Assay Supervision is required include the production, storage and trading operations with precious metals and jewelry, cutting precious stones, jewelry pawnshops, minting commemorative coins and decoration signs from precious metals. Before registering with Assay Supervision, register with the tax office, receive a certificate of registration in the unified state register and register your company with extra-budgetary funds.
Step 2
Prepare the premises in which the jewelry production will be located. Equip it with a safe or set aside a special safe room for storing precious metals, stones and products. You can replace safes by installing a modern security alarm system. Purchase equipment and tools, as well as top-class high-precision scales.
Step 3
Prepare a package of documents that you must submit to Assay Office. Write an application for the issuance of a special certificate addressed to the head of the territorial inspection of assay supervision. Attach a package of documents to it, which includes a list of the types of work of your company that require special permission, documents confirming your right to engage in entrepreneurial activity.
Step 4
As attachments to the application, issue notarized copies of the charter, PSRN, TIN, changes to the charter; ordinary copies: an information letter from the statistical authorities with a list of types of economic activity, the memorandum of association or the decision of the general meeting on the creation of an organization, the minutes of the meeting or an order on the appointment of the head. Certify these copies with the seal of the company. Please also attach a copy of the lease or title deed for the premises. The package of documents must contain a certificate of your company, which indicates its full name, bank details, postal and legal address, contact numbers and fax.
Step 5
Within two weeks after submitting your application for registration, you will receive a duly completed certificate of registration. It is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Start your activity, considering that even under favorable circumstances, the costs for it will not be recouped earlier than in 3 years.
