Step 1
The first step in organizing a bookstore is registering as an entrepreneur. The choice of the form of doing business depends on the trading format you choose. Are you going to organize a chain of stores, one or a bookstore? For a bookstore and chain, the most suitable form is a Limited Liability Company.

After registration, select the premises for the store. It may be small, but it is good if it is located in a passageway. Pay special attention to keep it free of moisture that could render books unusable. Also keep in mind when choosing a room that a store not exceeding 150 m2 implies an attractive type of taxation for many entrepreneurs in the form of UTII (single tax on imputed income).

Obtain permission from the SES and the fire inspection to open a store in the found premises.

Make repairs if necessary and purchase special equipment for your store. It is recommended to make the interior "warm" so that customers feel comfortable and cozy in the store. Take care of lighting; it is good if it is soft. Store walls can be pasted over with colorful travel posters, concerts, exhibitions and promotional images of popular book covers.
Step 5
A bookstore needs special equipment - racks, revolving shelves and tables. Place a counter parallel to one of the walls. It should not interfere with the entry and exit of the store. Bookshelves are located along the walls. For convenience, they should not exceed two meters in height. Do not forget to divide them into sections approximately 1, 2–1, 5 m wide. Above each such section, place a poster indicating the theme of the books on this rack.
Step 6
The main stage in organizing a bookstore is the purchase of goods. Decide on the subject of the books and try to conclude direct contracts with publishers that publish such books. Typically, publishers agree to deferred payment and do not require prepayment. For a good profitability, you need about 10 thousand books for one medium-sized store. Step 7
Find a qualified staff. Books are intellectual goods. An individual approach to each customer is very important for the good operation of the store. Sales consultants should be aware of all literary events and the publication of various book novelties.
