Step 1
Explore the look of authentic euro banknotes using the internet or samples at information counters in banks. If the picture on the money you received is different, then it is a fake.
Step 2
Look at the bill in the light. In this position, the watermark and transparent register will appear on the original banknotes. These elements should be equally well visible on both sides of the bill. The watermark on real money is clearly drawn and has a halftone effect.
Step 3
Evaluate the appearance of the security thread, which is located vertically and divides the banknote in half. On a genuine banknote, it is clearly visible in any position and does not contain inscriptions or images.
Step 4
Check for a hologram. The image on it should change at different angles of inclination. If the same image is viewed from different points of view, this is a fake. Notes in denominations of 10, 20 and 50 euros have a vertical holographic stripe, on which the euro symbol and numbers denoting the denomination replace each other. On larger money, there is no protective strip, but there is a holographic icon on which an image of an architectural motive is visible, which is replaced by a denomination designation.

Pay attention to the numbers in the corner of the banknote, representing the denomination: they are made with special paint. As a result, the color at different angles of view changes from bright purple to deep purple.

Rely on tactile sensations. As a result of the special way of applying the main images, they will all feel embossed. The paper used to make the euro is very unusual to the touch: it is 100% cotton.
