You can start sewing production right away from the equipment of a large industrial site, involving technologists-designers and laboratory assistants, or you can first create a small workshop working according to the "handicraft" principle, and then, as income accumulates, purchase more advanced equipment and think about renting full-fledged industrial premises.

It is necessary

  • - certificate of registration of individual entrepreneur;
  • - room for workshop equipment (50-70 square meters);
  • - a set of sewing equipment (universal sewing machines, overlock, steam iron);
  • - 3-5 seamstresses on a permanent basis and one cutter.

Instructions

Step 1

Register as a sole proprietor. Whichever model you are going to create a production of clothes - the presence of a state certificate in any case will give your company many advantages, although taxes after that will have to be paid regularly. If you start an activity without caring about its formal side at all, then you can run into very serious troubles. The main inconvenience in this case is the inability to advertise with your exact coordinates, which will help to get on your trail not only for clothing retailers, but also for employees of the tax office or other institutions, which should not come into conflict with.

Step 2

Choose one of two working schemes for a start-up sewing enterprise: either you will rent premises and monthly give part of the proceeds to the landlord, or you will place sewing machines at the home of your workers and will regularly pick up ready-made orders from them. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. The first, of course, is much less economical, the second complicates the process of organizing work for you - even if the seamstresses receive a percentage of the output, they will always be tempted to sew something for their own client or friend.

Step 3

Study the sewing equipment market, decide what types of machines will be required to solve your immediate tasks, and try to choose the most economical, but not excluding good quality, option. For a start, it is quite possible to purchase used equipment, and then gradually update and supplement its set. In sewing production with a low coefficient of automation, mainly universal sewing machines, as well as overlocks, are involved. It is better to immediately acquire a powerful steam iron, which will allow you to prepare some types of fabrics for work.

Step 4

Find qualified seamstresses who will work either at home or in a specially equipped workshop, depending on your choice. If conditions allow for an effective division of labor, you can also enter the staffing unit of the cutter and shift foreman for seamstresses. The adjustment of the equipment will be carried out by a third-party specialist or foreman from the service center of the company from which you purchased the equipment.
