Money transfer is a universal way to send money in an emergency. When choosing a method of sending, it should be borne in mind that a low commission may mean a low speed of receipt of money by the addressee. There are two main ways to send finance from Russia to Latvia - using the Contact and Western Union services.
Instructions
Step 1
To send using the Contact service, go to the main page of the service, and then click on the "Money transfers" link. Click on the link "Where to get" and select the country "Latvia". After that, find the city in which the addressee is located in the list. Select one of the branches to which you are going to send. Then click on the "Where to send" link. Select a branch located in your city, write down its address and telephone number. You will need a passport to send a money transfer. Tell the operator the city and the point of receipt of the transfer, and then pay the commission. Tell the recipient of the transfer the data that the operator will give you.
Step 2
Compared to Contact, Western Union charges a higher fee. However, this is more than offset by the fact that the points for issuing and sending funds of this company are located all over the world, therefore, the chance that its branch is located in the city in which the recipient is located is much higher.
Step 3
Go to the official website of the company and find the address of the branch closest to you. To carry out the operation, you will need a passport. At a Western Union branch, fill out an application to send money. It will be necessary to indicate the full name of the recipient of the transfer, the amount of the transfer, as well as the city and country of destination of the money transfer.
Step 4
Give it to the operator along with your passport, transfer fee and the amount you plan to send. After receiving a copy of the receipt with the control number of the money transfer, scan it and send it to the recipient by e-mail, or provide information such as the control number, amount and date of transfer, as well as the country of departure. Please note that you will also need a passport or other proof of identity to receive your transfer.
