Step 1
According to statistics, more than half of all clothing items worn by Europeans are made in the CIS and third world countries. In Russia, the labor force is still cheaper than in many other countries, so it is profitable to open a sewing workshop with us: after the promotion of your business, you will be able to receive orders for sewing clothes for well-known brands.
Step 2
A small sewing workshop will need a room of about 50 sq.m. Where your premises will be located does not matter. Therefore, you can rent it in a residential area as it is cheaper.
Step 3
To get started, you will need 8-10 workers. It will be possible to pay them piece-rate (percentage of each order, etc.). You will also need to hire a visiting accountant.
Step 4
If you are not very aware of what equipment is needed for a sewing workshop, ask potential workers - as a rule, experienced craftsmen are very well versed in such things. Any equipment can be bought or rented, which is cheaper. At a minimum, you will need one sewing machine for each worker, a semiautomatic buttonhole for sewing a straight buttonhole, a semiautomatic button sewing machine, and an iron.
Step 5
To keep your business legal, register with your local tax office as a sole proprietor. For this you will need to pay a state fee of 800 rubles.
Step 6
The profitability of the sewing business depends on how soon you can find regular customers. These can be markets, stores, well-known brands that have decided to reduce costs by attracting inexpensive labor. The latter option is likely already when you get promoted. As for the first two, you will need to advertise (via online mailings or calls). The sooner you give it, the more customers you can attract.
