Today a cashier's check is a fiscal document, i.e. documentary evidence of the conclusion of a certain sales contract. If you have such a cashier's check, you can demand a return or exchange of the purchased item. In the event of an erroneous penetration by the cashier of the check, it is necessary, according to the current legislation, to document this payment document canceled.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, draw up an act of the KM-3 form. This is the act "On the return of funds to customers for unused cashier's checks (including mistakenly punched cashier's checks)."

Step 2

Attach (pin) this cashier's check (erroneous) directly to the completed Act of the KM-3 form.

Step 3

If necessary (in the case of using thermal paper in the cash register), make a copy of this cashier's receipt and also attach it to the previously completed Act.

Step 4

On the check that was broken by mistake, put the checkmark “Redeemed” (if there are several such checks, put a similar mark on each check to be canceled).

Step 5

Write an explanatory note to the name of the director (or supervisor). State in the explanatory note the reason why the cashier's receipt was broken by mistake. Indicate one of such reasons, for example, inattention when working with the cash register, or the failure of the cash register.

Step 6

Enter certain data in the corresponding journal of the cashier-operator. In column number ten of the journal, write down information about all earnings for the day, and do not deduct the amount indicated in the canceled check from the total. In column number eleven of the journal, enter the indicators of the total revenue, from the value of which the amount from the canceled check was deducted. In column number fifteen of the journal, enter the data regarding the total amount for checks that were incorrectly or erroneously punched out (that is, canceled checks).

Step 7

After filling out the journal, make sure that the amount indicated in column ten of the journal is equal to the total amount of indicators that are indicated in columns eleven and fifteen of the journal.
