The norms of social benefits are subject to annual indexation by the state. In 2014, they were increased by 5%. The maximum amount of earnings, on the basis of which the calculation of maternity benefits, as well as childcare benefits, has also changed upward. For 2012, it is set at 512 thousand rubles, in 2013 - 568 thousand rubles. Thus, even if a woman received more than 42.7 thousand rubles. per month in 2012 (47.3 thousand rubles in 2013), then she will not be able to take into account earnings in excess of this amount.

The maternity allowance is provided to women for 140 calendar days. In case of complications, this period increases to 156 days, with
multiple pregnancy - up to 194 days.

Maternity benefits are calculated based on the woman's average daily earnings over the previous two years. The calculation does not take into account the days in which the woman was on parental leave and days of temporary disability.
Step 4
To determine the average daily earnings, you need to divide the total salary by 731 (this is the number of calendar days). It should be noted that the maximum average daily earnings for 2014 is set at 1,479.45 rubles. Its size cannot be less than the minimum wage.
Step 5
After determining the average daily earnings, it must be multiplied by the number of days for which maternity leave is granted. For example, the annual income of a woman in 2012 was 512 thousand rubles, and in 2013 - 650 thousand rubles. She spent 30 days on sick leave. It turns out her earnings in two years will be 1162 thousand rubles. This amount must be divided by 701 (731-30) days. The average daily earnings were 1657.6 rubles. This is more than the legal limit. Accordingly, the maternity allowance will be calculated on the basis of 1,479.45 rubles. in a day. It remains only to multiply 1479.45 by 140.
Step 6
The amount of a one-time maternity allowance should not exceed 207,123 rubles in 2014. (1479.45 * 140). Its value is higher than in 2013, when it amounted to a maximum of 186 986.8 rubles. If calculations are made on the basis of the minimum wage, then the maximum allowance in 2014 will be 25,528.65 rubles.
Step 7
The monthly parental allowance should not be confused with maternity benefits. It is calculated up to 1.5 years and is up to 40% of the average earnings for the previous two years. Its minimum size is RUB 2,576.62, and the maximum is RUB 17,990.24.
