Each expectant mother is entitled to generic money. These include maternity benefits as well as a lump sum for the birth of a child. The allowance is provided on the basis of a sick leave, which is written out in the antenatal clinic at the place of observation of the pregnant woman.
Instructions
Step 1
The allowance is determined based on the average earnings over the past two years, and is 100 percent of it. This benefit is calculated for 140 days (70 days before and 70 days after birth) if the woman is expecting one child. In the case of multiple pregnancies, the number of days increases to 194 (84 days before and 110 after birth).
Step 2
Working women receive maternity benefits. If the expectant mother continues to work during maternity leave, then the benefit is not assigned to her. Most women still exercise this right and take the prescribed leave. In this case, the allowance is calculated no later than 10 days from the date of provision of the certificate of incapacity for work.
Step 3
Along with the maternity allowance, the early pregnancy registration allowance may be paid. Currently, it is 438 rubles. To get it, you need to take the appropriate certificate from the antenatal clinic and attach it to the certificate of incapacity for work.
Step 4
For unemployed women, the allowance is calculated on the basis of the minimum established amount. To obtain it, you need to contact the social protection authorities at the place of residence.
Step 5
The lump-sum birth allowance for working women is also issued through the employer. In this case, you need to provide a birth certificate of the child, a certificate from the second parent stating that the allowance was not credited to him, and also write a corresponding statement.
Step 6
Since 2011, the size of the lump sum is 11,703 rubles. You can get it within 6 months from the moment the baby is born.
