Step 1
Decide what kind of activity you want to do in Finland. There are five different types of businesses. This is a person of a free profession (earning in a private way); personal partnerships; joint stock companies; cooperatives and associations. Self-employment means an activity for only one person, it is not a corporate one. Partnerships also do not apply to corporate business. Here, each person involved in the case bears personal responsibility, all the actions of partners are inextricably linked with each other. The corporation is a separate entity with some tax breaks.

Step 3
Contact the Trade Register of the General Patent and Registration Office in Finland (www.vero.fi). There you can check how unique the name you have chosen for your company name. If such a name already exists, then here you can independently choose another one for free using special computers with a complete database of already existing names. Also, in this institution, a citizen who is not a resident of one of the EU countries must obtain a special permit to conduct business.
Step 4
The package of documents depends on the form you have chosen for starting a business in Finland. For an individual entrepreneur, you need to obtain a special permit from the above-mentioned department to conduct commercial activities. Provide an application, a copy of the foreigner's passport, as well as a representation, i.e. a person permanently residing in Finland and eligible for various business-related subpoenas. Also, in order to conduct business, you need a notification of registration (provided, again, to the office), filled out in a special form in duplicate in Finnish and Swedish.
Step 5
To register the commercial activity of a partnership, it must have at least two founders. Submit an application to the General Directorate of Patents and Registrations to obtain permission to operate the partnership. On the paper, indicate the name of the applicant, nationality, place of establishment of the applicant, contact information. Also attach a copy of your passport. Please note that notices of registration of partnerships are issued in duplicate in Finnish and Swedish.
