When a woman has maternity leave, she needs to write an application for this leave and attach to it a certificate of incapacity for work issued by the antenatal clinic in which the expectant mother was observed.

In the organization where the expectant mother works, an order is issued to grant the woman maternity leave. The basis for the order is a statement and a certificate of incapacity for work. The order must indicate the start and end dates of the vacation. The duration of maternity leave is 140 calendar days for single pregnancies, and 194 days for multiple pregnancies.

Step 4

A copy of the order is sent to the accounting department of the organization, after which the expectant mother is calculated the amount of the benefit. To calculate the benefit, you should take 100 percent of the woman's earnings, excluding sick leave and vacation pay.

Step 5

It should be noted that starting from 2011, the expectant mother chooses the period that should be taken for calculating the allowance herself. This is the two calendar years or twelve months prior to the start of maternity leave.

Step 6

The accrued allowance is paid to the expectant mother no later than ten days from the date of application. The allowance can be paid to the expectant mother directly at the cash desk of the organization or transferred to the current account in the bank. How the benefits are paid depends on the employee settlement mechanism installed in the organization.

Step 7

If the expectant mother did not work before the maternity leave, then the allowance is paid in an amount not exceeding one minimum wage. An unemployed woman can receive an allowance at the department of social protection of the population at her place of residence.
