In 2011, some changes were made to the legislation, according to which the calculation of sick leave is now carried out according to new rules. In some cases, a sick leave can be calculated according to the minimum wage.

Instructions

Step 1

Starting in 2011, the employer is obliged to pay for the first three days of the employee's illness instead of the two, as it was before. In one of the following cases, payment is made by the social insurance fund:

• in case of quarantine of a child under seven years of age attending a kindergarten, an incapacitated family member or the employee himself;

• in case of aftercare in sanitary health resorts on the territory of Russia;

• in the case of caring for a sick family member or child;

• in the event that prosthetics are performed in a hospital.

Step 2

Calculate the amount of earnings for the previous two years. In this case, only those earnings for which contributions to the social insurance fund were calculated are taken into account. Compare the amount received with the established maximum value, it is equal to 415,000 rubles for each year. If this amount is exceeded, set the limit value.

Step 3

Divide the total amount of earnings for two years by 730. Multiply the resulting value by the percentage depending on your seniority:

• 60% - from six months to five years.

• 80% - from five to eight years

• 100% - from eight years

Step 4

Multiply the result by the number of sick days (missed as a result of illness), you get the amount to be paid on sick leave.

Step 5

To calculate the sick leave from the minimum wage, one of the following conditions must be met:

• monthly earnings less than the minimum wage;

• the employee's insurance experience is less than 6 months;

• the employee had no accruals for two accounting years.

Step 6

Average daily earnings, calculated from the minimum wage, which is 151.6 rubles. (4611 rubles * 24/730) multiply by the district coefficient and, if necessary, by the partial day coefficient.

Step 7

Multiply the result by the number of sick days (missed as a result of illness), you get the amount to be paid on sick leave.
