The calculation of the average wage is used for different purposes. Someone just wants to calculate income for themselves, someone calculates severance pay upon dismissal, and someone fills out a certificate of average income, on which the amount of unemployment benefits will depend when registering at a local employment center.
Instructions
Step 1
Most often, the average wage is calculated based on the income received by the employee in the last 12 months. Thus, to calculate the average wage, add up all payments received from the employer for 12 months. They should include various bonuses and allowances, if any. But sick leave and vacation payments should be excluded from the calculation.
Step 2
Find the production calendar for the past period. Calculate the number of days you actually worked in the last 12 months. It is possible that they could not coincide with official working days, and also fall on generally accepted holidays.
Step 3
Divide your salary by the number of days worked. The result will be your average daily earnings for the past period. If you need to calculate your average monthly earnings, multiply your daily earnings by the number of working days in a particular month.
Step 4
If you need to calculate the average salary for the official bodies, provide accurate information and carry out accounting calculations, then refer to the Regulation "On the specifics of the procedure for calculating the average salary" approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. It describes in detail the method for calculating the average wage in all possible cases, taking into account the following features: • Payments that are not taken into account in the calculation
• Average daily earnings for vacations
• Calculation of calendar days in an incompletely worked month
• Summarized accounting of working hours
• Accounting for premiums
• The procedure for calculating average earnings in case of an increase in tariff rates or salaries
• Shift method of work
• Holidays
