Step 1
Select the type of card you are going to open. Along with the products of the well-known international systems Visa and MasterCard, Sberbank offers, for example, its own Sbercard system. However, in general, it is less popular with customers due to its limited application possibilities.
You can get basic information about the types of cards you are interested in, tariffs for their service and the conditions for issuing them on the Sberbank website (do not forget to choose your region, since tariffs in different locations may differ) or from a consultant directly at the branch.
Step 2
Visit a bank branch with a passport and, if there is a condition of the first installment on the selected card, a sufficient amount for it.
Sberbank easily opens cards to those who are registered in the service area of a particular branch. In other cases, the decision is made by the head of the department, who may refuse.
Tell the teller about your desire to open the card, name the type and class of the product you are interested in. If you have not yet made a decision, ask him for additional advice, ask your questions.
Step 3
The operator, based on the information in your passport, will draw up an agreement and other necessary papers and offer you to sign them. Read them carefully, especially if you are applying for a credit card, before putting your signature.
If the conditions for issuing the card require a down payment, transfer the required amount to the teller. In some branches, this will require a separate queue at the cashier. If you wish, you can immediately deposit more than the minimum payment to the card.
Step 4
After accepting your documents, the operator will inform you when you can visit the branch again to pick up the finished card. You also need to have your passport with you during this visit.
