Step 1
After the transfer has been sent to you, it becomes available to you in a few minutes. In some regions of the CIS countries, the transfer can take 48 hours. You can receive a transfer at Western Union service points. This service is provided only to individuals and is not available for making payments, investments and commercial transactions. Western Union money transfers can be sent both in rubles and in dollars. As a rule, payments are made in the currency of the recipient country. Payments for transfers from abroad are made in Russia in US dollars.
Step 2
Find out the nearest Western Union service point. This can be done on the Westernunion.ru website, where you can also find out the status of the transfer. Come to the department. Do not forget to take with you an identity document: a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, or a passport of a foreign citizen. An identity document is also considered a military ID, a residence permit, a temporary document instead of a lost passport. Show this document to the cashier.
Step 3
Fill out an application in the established form and indicate a unique transfer code. The transfer code, consisting of numbers or letters, the sender must inform you in advance. Be prepared to state the amount of the transfer, the name of the sender, the answer to the security question (if the sender included it in the transfer). A security question can be used to identify the identity of the recipient as an additional measure.
Step 4
Sign on the receipt of funds. The cashier will give you a copy of the form and cash.
Step 5
If for some reason you cannot receive funds in person, another person can do it for you. This person must have a power of attorney for the transaction, certified by a notary, his own identity card and must also know the transfer details listed above.
