Usually, all navigators have pre-installed maps and navigation software that lay out routes on these maps. However, the basic set does not always contain information on the required regions or may become outdated over time, which is especially important for rapidly developing settlements. In this case, it is necessary to install new navigation charts.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the navigator in your car and start. It will take a few minutes for the device to load the required utilities and find satellites. At this moment, it is advisable not to get under way and be in an open space. It is also desirable that there are no shielding materials around, such as concrete. If these conditions are met, the first turning on of the navigator will take place quite quickly.
Step 2
Check that the navigator has received the coordinates of the location. Test the pre-installed maps. To do this, drive around the city and visit new road sections that have appeared over the past few months. If the navigator displays outdated information, then you need to install new navigation maps or update them to the latest version.
Step 3
Install the MapChecker software for Garmin navigators, which can be downloaded from the link https://www.garmin.ru/maps/. The application takes care of checking the navigation maps and informs about updates or new maps. It also allows you to easily download the maps you want that were not preinstalled on your device.
Step 4
Log in to the Navitel website if you use these navigators. Select the card you want to install, download it to your computer. Connect your navigator to your PC and remove the obsolete card from the memory. Replace it with a new file. Launch the Navitel program, open the Menu and specify the path to the required map in the settings.
Step 5
Connect the Avtosputnik 5 navigator to the computer. Launch the navigation program and download the required maps from the official website. Unzip the downloaded archive into the "Maps" directory, removing the outdated version first. Turn on your navigator and check the map is working properly. If you did everything correctly, then it should automatically work.
