The skating rink serves as an excellent place for active recreation, to which many devote their free time. If your goal is to start a business, an ice rink can be a good option. You may not be able to arrange a full-fledged television show on ice, but giving the townspeople hours of unforgettable rest is quite real.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the type of ice rink you can organize. Ice skating areas are of the following types: open skating rinks, steel canopy skating rinks and under inflatable structures. The first option requires the least investment, the second skating rink is the most expensive construction. In a small town, it is quite possible to organize skiing on a platform under an inflatable structure.
Step 2
Determine the circle of clients who may be interested in your company. The main income is generated by the massive attraction of visitors. Other categories of clients are ice hockey players, as well as children's figure skating schools. Keep in mind that rental fees from children's groups will be significantly less than the income from renting an ice rink for training hockey teams.
Step 3
Calculate the profitability of the enterprise. Include skate rental in the price. The more visitors to the skating rink, the higher the cost of the service. This is primarily due to the fact that mass skating increases the overhead costs associated with preparing, cleaning and restoring the ice cover. One of the types of additional income that you can provide is advertising. It can be very diverse: banners on the sides of the ice rink, drawings on the ice, printing advertising texts on tickets, advertising on the broadcasting network, etc.
Step 4
Decide if you are going to build, buy, or rent a skating rink. Building an open-air ice rink can be very costly and will require several hundred thousand euros. If you are ready to go for such costs, carefully choose a company that will undertake such a construction. Include the purchase of equipment (skates, ice machine, refrigeration unit) in the cost part of the project.
Step 5
The device of a skating rink under an inflatable structure, as already mentioned, is more affordable. The advantage of this design is the high lifting speed. But this skating rink will require special equipment.
Step 6
An alternative way to open an ice rink is to rent. It will allow you to avoid the cost of construction and installation work. The main difficulties are associated with negotiating with the owners of the ice rink. Only rent a skating rink if the solution is cost-effective.
Step 7
Determine the number of workers who will be servicing the roller. Depending on the type of ice rink and its size, you may need 20-50 people.
Step 8
Estimate the time frame for the skating rink to recoup the investment. Much of the return on investment will depend on effective management. As a rule, on average, costs are returned within 2-4 years.
