How romantic it would be to open your own detective agency, right? The profession of a private investigator is shrouded in an aura of mystery and courage, it seems to us a matter for real men looking for adventure. It was decided that the detective agency should be. To get started, however, you need to familiarize yourself with some technical subtleties.

Step 1
Since you have decided to become a private detective, first submit to the relevant internal affairs body a special questionnaire, a statement, two photographs 4x6 cm in size. You will also need a medical certificate of fitness for detective and security activities. Take care in advance of obtaining certificates from the narcological and neuropsychiatric dispensaries confirming that you are not registered there.
Step 2
Attach a photocopy of your passport or other document confirming Russian citizenship to the package of documents. You cannot do without a copy of a diploma of legal education or a certificate of special training to work as a private detective, or a document indicating work experience in operational or investigative units for at least three years.
Step 3
The internal affairs bodies, if necessary, will require written information about the need for special means, communications and other technical means that you intend to use in your detective work.
Step 4
Pay the license issuance fee and attach the receipt to the package of documents.
Step 5
After obtaining your private detective license, register your detective agency with the tax authority. The easiest way is to register individual entrepreneurship, but organization of a legal entity is also possible.
Step 6
Find an office space. The office is the face of your detective bureau, where you have to receive clients and negotiate. Make your agency premises as representative as possible. Purchase office equipment and other tools: dictaphones, telephones, video cameras, other special equipment, the use of which is not prohibited by law.
Step 7
Find yourself assistants. Most detective activities will require the participation of several employees. It is desirable that these people have operational experience. An important part of your professional detective team should be an analyst who knows how to work with information.
Step 8
Define your specialization in the detective services market. The types of activities that private detectives have the right to carry out are clearly defined by law.
