PayPal is an intermediary payment system on the Internet. With its help, purchases can be paid without disclosing information about the payment card. By linking a bank card to your PayPal account, when paying, you just need to activate the account in the payment system. You can link one or more cards to your account, thus increasing the payment limit.
Instructions
Sign in to your PayPal account. On your account home page, you will see two menu bars. On the bottom menu bar, find the Profile section. Move the mouse cursor over it, and in the drop-down list select the line Add or Edit Bank Card.
You will find yourself on the page of your cards already linked to your account. Click on the Add a Card button. On a new page, the service will notify you which cards can be added to your account. It will also inform you in what currency the transactions will be displayed.
An account holder from Russia can only bind cards of Russian banks and make payments only in rubles.
Next, enter the card details and other required information.
Fill in the First name and Last name fields. In the Card Type drop-down list, select the card type: Maestro, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Then you will need to enter the card number (Card Number), the expiration date (Expiration Date) in mm / yy format (mm / yy), the last three digits on the back of the card (CSC).
Enter your home address in the fields of the Billing Address section or use the information already entered earlier:
Street, building, apartment - street, building, apartment, Center of population - a settlement, District, region - edge, region, Postal Code - postal code.
Click the yellow Add Card button. Within 2-4 business days, an amount equal to approximately 1 dollar will be frozen on the card. The bank notifies about this by mobile, if you have a "mobile bank" service. This is a card validation check. The amount will be refunded to your PayPal account as soon as you confirm the card. To do this, you will need to log into your account again and enter the three-digit transaction code from the account statement.
After confirming the card, you will be taken to the list of your cards in your account. Using the Edit button, you can change the information about the card. This may be necessary if the card has an extended expiration date.
If there is more than one card in the list, then one of the cards acquires the status of the main one. When making purchases, information will be read first from this card.
Opposite the additional card, you can see the line Make Primary. With the help of this line, you can make an additional card the main one.
Additional security measures
You can also improve security with the Login Required option. Then the service will display the login window for the payment system account when making each purchase with a card. For security purposes, one bank card can be linked to only one PayPal account. However, you can write or call support to change this situation.
