Step 1
To activate the card by phone, call the specialized call center at the phone number indicated in the accompanying documents for the card. Most often, the voice of the automatic informing system will answer you. To follow his instructions, put your phone in touchtone mode in advance. On a modern landline telephone, a switch is provided for this. This is not required on a cell phone - they all initially work in the desired mode.
Step 2
If you are using an old telephone that does not have a tone dialing function, wait patiently for the end of the information and wait for the necessary time to connect with the operator. If at the moment all call center operators are busy, you will be informed about it or the connection will be dropped. Please, call later.
Step 3
To activate the card directly by phone, keep the card and passport in front of you. Following the instructions of an automatic informant or a live operator, provide the 16-digit card code and your personal data. After that, the card will be activated. You will also receive a card PIN or you will be asked to come up with one yourself.
Step 4
To activate the card via the Internet, go to the official website of the bank or financial institution that issued the card. Select the internet banking function. Then, following the instructions of the system, enter the card number and your passport details. If you need to register, come up with a personal username and password, if they are not provided automatically.
Step 5
To activate the card using an ATM, find the ATM that belongs to the bank that issued the card. It is not possible to activate the card at other ATMs. After choosing the option "Card activation" enter its 16-digit number and PIN-code. Activation will happen instantly.
Step 6
In rare cases, to activate a plastic card, you need to enter funds on it. Usually 100 rubles are enough for this. You can deposit money using a bank transfer, bank cashier, using an ATM with a money deposit function. Depending on the method chosen, keep your passport, card, bank account number, card number and its PIN code with you.
