Step 1

To calculate the interest on the deposit, specify how the accrual takes place. So, they can be charged at the end of the term of the deposit, quarterly or monthly. There are also two types of interest - simple and complex (with capitalization).

Step 2

When calculating simple interest, they are transferred to a separate account at a certain frequency specified in the agreement and are not added to the deposit amount. Calculating them is easy enough. To do this, multiply the initial amount of the deposit by the annual rate and by the number of days for which the deposit is open. Then the amount received will remain to be divided by 100 and by the number of days in a year (365 or 366). For example, a contribution in the amount of 100 thousand rubles. open for 90 days at a rate of 9.8% per year. The yield on the deposit will be 2416.4 rubles. (100 * 9, 8 * 90 / 365/100). If a deposit is opened for a year, you just need to multiply the deposit amount by a percentage.

Step 3

In case of a deposit with capitalization, the accrued interest is added to the amount of the deposit within the terms specified in the agreement. Most often - monthly or quarterly. As a rule, the depositor has a choice - to capitalize the interest, or to withdraw the profitability. But under the condition of capitalization, the amount of the deposit increases, respectively, the accrued interest also grows. To calculate the deposit amount, taking into account interest, the initial investment amount must be multiplied by the annual rate and by the number of days on which the bank capitalizes and divided by the number of days per year and by 100. For example, with a deposit of 100 thousand rubles. with a rate of 9.8% with monthly capitalization of interest, the amount of interest for January will be 832.3 rubles. (100 * 9, 8 * 31/365). It turns out that for February, interest will be charged already on the amount of the deposit 100 832.3 rubles. Further calculations are carried out in the same way. If you want to calculate the amount of interest on a deposit for a specified period, you must multiply the initial amount of the deposit by ((1 + annual interest rate * number of days / number of days in a year / 100) to the degree (number of periods of interest accrual - 1).

Step 4

If the formulas for calculating the profitability seem to you too complicated, you can always contact a bank representative to provide you with detailed information. Also, on the websites of most banks there is a calculator that allows you to automatically calculate the accrued interest based on the specified parameters.
