There is a common phrase: "There is a lie, there is a shameless lie and there is statistics." Thus, according to the official data of Rosstat, published annually in a separate book, it is possible to draw up a portrait of the country where we happened to and does not have to continue to work and live.

Do not deny yourself anything
Do not deny yourself anything

The most recent data is for 2018, no newer. Will be this fall.

So, the consumer spending of Russians, according to Rosstat, is distributed as follows: most of the money goes to food, housing and communal services, fuel, transport; least of all - for education.

30% of expenses are food:

Bread and grain products: 4, 6% of the total consumer spending Potatoes: 0, 4% Vegetables and melons: 2, 1% Fruits and berries: 2, 2% Meat and meat products: 8, 5% Fish and fish products: 2% Milk and dairy products: 5.2% Sugar and confectionery: 1.8% Eggs: 0.4% Vegetable oil and other fats: 0.5% Tea, coffee and other soft drinks: 2.5%

Another 27.9%, almost 28% are housing and communal services and other utilities: electricity, gas, central heating, etc.

Of the remaining 42%, most are consumed by transport (8, 4%), fuel (4, 8%), replenishment of the first aid kit (5%), as well as the purchase of shoes and clothes (7, 7%).

Thus, 16% of all income remains "for life". According to the same official data from Rosstat, in 2018 the distribution of the population in terms of monetary income was as follows: the highest density, namely 23.6% of the population, has an income of 27 to 45 thousand rubles per month. And if, as calculated above, 16% of the monthly income remains "for life" - this is 7200 rubles in the best scenario, the "ceiling" of income of this stratum of the population was taken into account - 45 thousand rubles a month.

Here we must make a reservation that the nominal incomes of Russians are growing from year to year; however, taking into account inflation and rising prices, real incomes of Russians are falling and, according to independent economists, will continue to fall.

We have seven thousand rubles a month supposedly "free" for personal spending and needs. This is in a very, very optimistic scenario. Someone can refute these figures, but this can only be done if you keep records of income and expenses, in other words - personal accounting.

So we got to the first rule of financial literacy - accounting for income and expenses. This rule has established itself as a basic and obligatory rule for any income, but when there are 7,000 rubles a month for life, it is extremely important to keep track of expenses and income if you want to get out of the swamp of your usual life.

In the following articles - a specific and detailed analysis of exactly how to keep track of money and what else, besides this, you can do.
