If the item you purchased is defective, you have the right to return it to the store. You can do the same with a completely benign thing that did not suit you. However, in order to return it, a number of conditions must be met.
It is necessary
- - passport;
- - application for the return of money for the goods;
- - sales receipt;
- - warranty card;
- - purchased item with labels and packaging.
Instructions
Step 1
When making a purchase in a store, do not forget to bring your receipt and warranty card. Do not throw away these documents - if you want to return the purchased item, you will need them. Do not rush to leave the point of sale, properly inspect the purchased item, ask the consultant to check if it works. Be careful when buying several pieces of the same item. Check each package to make sure that the expiration date has not expired and the product has no obvious defects.
Step 2
If you find a defect, immediately contact the store. Sellers will offer to exchange a defective item for a good one. If this does not suit you, ask for a refund for the purchase. According to the Consumer Protection Law, the store is obliged to reimburse you for the purchase price no later than 10 days after the claim is filed. Items purchased on sale are subject to return and exchange on a general basis.
Step 3
Make a refund application addressed to the store director. Give one copy to the management, on the other ask for a signature certifying that your claim has been received. If you cannot fill out the paperwork yourself, contact the district consumer protection department - its staff will help you formulate your complaints and advise you on further actions.
Step 4
It happens that the purchased item has no defects, however, having brought it home, you understand that it does not suit you. In this case, you have the right to return the purchase to the store. Please note that the product will be accepted back if it has all the required tags and labels and has not been used. You can return the item within 14 days after purchase.
Step 5
There is a long list of products that will only be accepted back if found defective. These include perfumery and cosmetics, underwear, personal hygiene items, medicines, household chemicals, fabrics, furniture, books, cars. When purchasing items from this list, be especially careful.
Step 6
If the store refuses to return your money, referring to internal rules or claiming that you yourself are to blame for the damage to the purchased item, you can go to court. A preliminary examination of the goods will not hurt either. You will have to pay for it, but if during the inspection it turns out that the fault is on the conscience of the manufacturer, the store will be obliged to reimburse you for the cost of the expert's services.
Step 7
Make a statement of claim to the court. Attach copies of your return statement and sales receipt. In a claim, demand that you return the money for the goods, reimburse the cost of the examination, pay a fine for late payment and moral damage. If the court considers your claims to be valid, you will receive the full amount claimed.
