Step 1
First of all, it is necessary to understand that some donors or grant operators generally do not welcome or even forbid to indicate the amount of salary for the project manager. In the event that it is still possible, then the amount of remuneration should not exceed 30% of the project cost and the requested amount. However, it is not forbidden to indicate the amount under the article "remuneration of attracted specialists", where your remuneration may partly go.
Step 2
The next important point is related to the detailing of the estimate itself. The more detailed and transparent it is, the higher the likelihood of obtaining funding, but here you need to be careful. Most donors require documentary evidence of all costs of the estimate, so each article must be carefully planned and checked for accuracy. Small grants usually do not require a check, only a written report.
Step 3
The total amount of funds requested from the grantor may exceed the possible limit, however, it will be a huge plus for you to indicate the co-financing of your project in the estimate, for example, from the budget of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, the municipality and extra-budgetary sources.
