Starting from January 1, 2018, monthly payments to all non-working pensioners have been increased. This affected only those who have a certain length of service and receive an insurance pension.
But citizens who receive a social pension will have to expect its increase from April 1 of this year. The indexation of such payments is tied to the change in the subsistence minimum of pensioners over the previous year. Based on these indicators, this year the growth of social pensions will be 4.1 percent.
Who can qualify for such a promotion?
The category of recipients of social pensions includes people with disabilities of all groups, including those disabled since childhood and disabled children. Social benefits are assigned to them only in case of complete absence of work experience.
Also, social pensions will increase for people whose work experience is minimal, but they are still entitled to an old-age pension, that is, upon reaching a certain age. This category also includes foreign citizens who have lived in our country for more than 15 years and have reached retirement age.
Children who, for one reason or another, have lost their breadwinner will also receive an increase in their allowance. It is appointed only if the deceased did not have a single day of work experience. Otherwise, an insurance claim will be assigned.
And this category also includes the small peoples of the North. In this case, men must be over 55 years old, and women - 50 years old.
Last year, the increase in social pensions also occurred once, but only by 1, 2 percent. In the future, such increases will also be made annually.
