First of all, the quality of the paper. The paper used for printing money is unique, it is impossible to buy it. Take a new banknote, slightly remember it in your hands. If a counterfeit bill falls into your hands, you can easily identify it precisely by the discrepancy between the original paper.

All other methods of detecting counterfeits are much less relevant, since they require careful study of the banknote. And this only happens if you suspect the possibility that it is fake. First of all, pay attention to micro-perforation on high denomination notes. It is made with a laser, therefore it has smooth, smooth edges. Slide your finger along the perforation and memorize the sensations. Criminals usually fake perforations by puncturing them with rough edges.

Some people consider the embossed type of the inscription "BANK OF RUSSIA TICKET" to be an important sign of the bill's authenticity. Step 5
Examine the emblem of the Bank of Russia, made with optically variable paint. When a genuine bill is tilted, the emblem changes color. Counterfeiters cannot reproduce this protection, so on their bills the paint changes hue, but not color. It should be remembered that on the new 1000-ruble banknotes, the emblem is made with green paint and does not change color.
Step 6
Examine the metallized thread - it should dive into the paper, then disappearing, then appearing on one side. There is no thread on the opposite side. In this case, the thread should look like a solid dark stripe in the light. In primitive forgeries, the thread is imitated by gluing strips of foil, such a "thread" looks torn in the light. On high-quality counterfeits, criminals copy this security element by gluing a bill made of two layers of paper.
Step 7
If the bill is suspicious, fold it in half and use your fingernails to rub it firmly along the fold. For fakes printed on a laser printer, the ink is unstable and will wear off at the fold. These fakes are usually printed on smooth paper and are easy to spot.
