The first thing to remember is that opening a travel agency will not pay off immediately. Firstly, clients will not be in a hurry to buy vouchers from an unfamiliar agency, about which they have not heard anything, and whose office has been open for only a week or so. Tour operators in the same countries are about the same, and their prices do not differ too much, so the reputation of the agency plays a big role when tourists choose it. The agency's profit from one sold voucher is, as a rule, about 10%.

Start-up capital - there is no clear amount with which you can guaranteed to break through with the tourism business. Some agencies start with no more than 10 thousand dollars, but serious travel agencies from European countries, opening in Moscow, spend millions of euros on this. At the office, you need to make a connection: it should be several phone lines and good Internet, in order to always be able to check free seats for flights of interest and when booking rooms in hotels. If a company works and verifies information quickly, it makes good profits.

Premises for rent. Travel services cannot be provided until the agency obtains a license. And it can be obtained only when the staff is recruited and office space is rented. Since many people do not choose a travel agency in advance, but simply come to ask about the directions of interest to the company whose office they meet on their way home or to work, it is advisable to rent a room where there is a large flow of people.

A license is required to operate a travel agency. To get it, it is necessary that at least 1/5 of the working staff of the agency have a tourism education or experience and work experience in the tourism business, and at least 3 years. The head of the agency must necessarily have a higher education or professional education. For a license, you need to apply to the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Economic Development, it is issued for a period of 5 years. That being said, when you apply for a license, you must already have an office and a staff of hired employees, even if you don't get a license. The department decides whether to issue you a license or not, no later than 2 months later.

In addition to the license, you will need other documents. First, it is a certificate that the agency's services meet quality standards. Secondly, the hygiene certificate. To get it, you need to know about all the tropical diseases that are dangerous to tourists.
