It is necessary

  • - certificate of ownership and all documents confirming the ownership of the living space;
  • - a loan agreement, which indicates that the loan was issued directly for the purchase of housing;
  • - certificate 2-NDFL - confirmation of the fact of payment of taxes for the reporting period from wages.

Instructions

Step 1

In order for the amount of the tax deduction to be credited to your current account, fill out a declaration of income at the district inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service. If you officially work not in one place, but in several, then collect salary certificates from all employers. This way, you are more likely to get your money back, which went to pay tax on the purchase of real estate.

Step 2

Write an application for the provision of an interest deduction for and attach copies of the above documents to it. The tax inspector, in turn, must verify the copies with the originals.

Step 3

Wait for a response from the tax inspector. The verification procedure will take about three months. You may be asked for documents with additional information.

Step 4

If the tax inspectorate responds positively, write an application for a refund from the budget. Within four months, according to the details you specified, the state will transfer the amount of money that constitutes the tax deduction.

Step 5

In order for the amount of tax deduction to be returned to the place of work, submit an application for a deduction to the district inspection of the Federal Tax Service, attach all documents to it, and also indicate all the details of your employer.

Step 6

At the end of the month, the tax office will prepare a notification for your employer, confirming your right to receive a deduction from the budget.

Step 7

Bring the notification to the accounting department at the place of work. During the year, you will not be withheld income tax in the amount of the tax deduction.
